On Wednesday, October 8, International Walk to School Day will give children, parents, school teachers and community leaders an opportunity to be part of a global event as they celebrate the many benefits of walking. Some ways to participate are walking your child to school, or dropping your child off at a designated location where we can gather to walk together. (Thanks for info: Hanlon School Newsletter) If you are interested in participating, Patterson Insurance Agency, (190 Washington Street) has graciously opened their parking lot to Hanlon School parents. Feel free to join us there to walk together or walk your typical neighborhood route with neighbors. We can meet at 8:15 and leave by 8:20 to walk to Hanlon. More information will be posted here on WestwoodBlog related to this event, the Safe Routes to School program and MassRides Safe Routes to School program and my ideas for creating a "WalkableWestwood." | ||
